Interisland Flights To Molokai
Hawaiian Airlines' operates code-share flights and connecting flights to and from Molokai’s Hoolehua Airport. Island visitors and residents alike are welcomed with Interisland flights departing and returning to Honolulu on Oahu, Lihue on Kauai, Kahului on Maui, and both Hilo and Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii.
When visitors hop aboard one of our Molokai Interisland flights, it’s like visiting a private island. And with affordable Interisland airfares, a getaway to this retreat that’s "Hawaiian By Nature" becomes even more seducing.
On Interisland flights approaching from the north, flights to Molokai unfold to views of the world’s highest sea cliffs towering some 3,000 ft. above the ocean floor. From the west, you’ll view Papohaku, a seemingly endless strand of sand that stretches along as Hawaii’s longest beach. The imposing settings are impossible to absorb in any other way.
This is the birthplace of hula. It’s an island still clutching ancient practices and avoiding "modernization." So when it’s time to catch a Interisland flight to this most Hawaiian island, Molokai greets you with an exclusive paradise steeped in tradition and culture.

Molokai Culture
An island that basks in its culture rather than the tourism spotlight, Molokai is a island that forgoes frills. While all the Hawaiian Islands stand proud of their pasts, only Molokai has managed to retain so much past in its present.
Perhaps it’s because Molokai is the only island where native Hawaiians comprise the majority of the population. And with its rural complexion, most residents hold on to traditional ways of life. Far from high tech and high rise, island people still center on the practical skills of hunting, fishing and farming.
It’s this rawness that perpetuates Molokai’s charm. When visitors explore the island, many ask "where’s the Hawaiiana?" It’s actually everywhere, but it’s Hawaiiana in its purest form.
You’ll see it when a family welcomes a cousin with an impromptu hula at the airport. It’s heard when a group of kids play ukulele while waiting for their ride. It’s when a kayaker paddles past a fisherman tossing out his net. That’s Hawaiian. It’s culture pure and simple.
In celebration form, the Molokai Ka Hula Piko Festival is a cultural renewal-gathering held by Hawaiians, for Hawaiians. While visitors are welcomed to the reverent occasion, that’s not the point. This week of lectures and classes is capped with a day of festivities featuring hula halau (schools) and chanting to honor hula’s birth, followed by an all-day party at Papohaku Beach Park.
It’s much the same with the island’s Makahiki events each winter and Aloha Festivals in October. Again, while visitors are welcomed, it’s not the focus. It’s truly about Hawaiians honoring their traditions.
On Molokai, culture surrounds you perhaps more intensely than on any other Hawaiian Island. Here, it’s not a selling point. It’s a bonus.
